So, I have been getting all of my student loans and financial aid figured out. I haven't had to deal with getting student loans in the past. My parents were financially sound enough to put me and my siblings through college without us getting into debt, or them getting into debt. I have never been so thankful for that as I am now. (The trackers on the side of my blog that are for the students loans were my husband's student loans. Now that we are married, they are our students loans.)
This process is a pain! I realize that I am pretty late to be getting everything completed and approved and all of that stuff. I have been corresponding with a financial aid person via email during the entire process. In one email she told me to go ahead and get set up with a payment plan (which involves a $25.00 fee). I then asked if I needed to go ahead and pay the first payment (just shy of $400.) I told her that I was able to do that, if I needed to. Maybe I haven't been understanding her, but she said it was my choice if I had already enrolled in the payment plan. Well, she told me I needed to enroll in the payment plan, so how is it now my choice?
I went ahead and paid the first payment, just so it wasn't late and we had a bit more time. Even though everything was telling me that my tuition payment was due on August 5, the financial aid person told me that it really wasn't due until the first day of class (August 22). I really wish this was more clear.
I will definitely be starting this whole process earlier next year, so I don't have to worry about getting down to the wire.
Don't worry, I will keep you updated :)
And now for our weather report for today. It rained again! I was woken up by some lovely thunder this morning, and when I came upstairs, I saw that it was raining and had been raining for a little bit. It truly is a lovely thing.
Here is a picture of my plant enjoying the rain yesterday. I always move my potted plants out into the rain when I get the chance. It helps save some moolah, and I am always looking for ways to save moolah.
I know you can't see it, but there is a Hosta in between the Coleus. The Hosta was originally a lot taller than the Coleus when I first planted this guy, but the Coleus has taken off. The little blue flowers around the edge (I don't know its name) are slowing dying. I think they are at the end of their season. When they were at the height of their season, they were absolutely beautiful! They cascaded down the edge of the pot and were so cute and colorful.
